Michigan State University head football coach Mark Dantonio has been announced as the featured speaker for this year’s Massillon football spring kickoff event that’s happening on April 20 at the Knights of Columbus Massillon in Ohio. Tickets to get into the event as general admission cost $50 per person, and $150 per person for those who want to be in the VIP section. To kick off the evening, there will be a cocktail hour beginning at 5:30 p.m. where guests will get to mingle with Dantonio and other special guests, before being served a steak dinner. The night will wrap up with Dantonio’s talk, which is sure to be both an insightful and football-filled speech for all the sports fans out there.
The Delta Charter Township, Michigan native lived in Texas and Ohio before finally ending up with his family in Michigan, and during his high school years discovered that he had a knack for playing football. Dantonio went on to attend college at the University of South Carolina where he earned three letters for playing as a defensive back on the football team before graduating with his bachelor’s degree in education. He went on to earn his master’s degree from Ohio University in 1980, which is also where he began his coaching career as an assistant coach for Ohio’s football program. Over the last 36 years of his career he has worked and coached for several different college teams including Purdue, Butler, Youngstown State, Kansas, Ohio State, Cincinnati, and now for Michigan State where he has been since 2007.
Dantonio will be speaking at the Knights of Columbus in Massillon, Ohio later this month to take part in the football spring kickoff event. Cocktails, dinner, and a great talk by the coach will be on the menu so be sure to get your ticket if you live in the local area.
