Author and NCAA Wrestling Champion Anthony Robles will be going to Trinity High School in Lancaster, Pennsylvania on November 11 to deliver a motivational speech to the student body on campus. This will be part of an athletic fundraiser happening that day, but the main reason that Robles was invited out there is because the officials really believe that his story will appeal to people of all ages and inspire them to see what can be accomplished when one’s mind is put to a task. For more information on this upcoming event, visit Robles’ website or contact Trinity High School to ask about how you would be able to attend if you are in the area.
The wrestler grew up in Mesa, Arizona and was born with only one leg for no apparent reason. However, he used his disability to make the rest of his body incredibly strong by using crutches and doing other exercises, which led him to be one of the best wrestlers in his high school’s history. During his training he learned that he could use his lower center of gravity to his advantage and won two state wrestling championships. In 2007 he attended Arizona State University where he was labeled an All-American athlete and won the Pacific-10 Conference Championships at 125 pounds. By the time he graduated, he was a three-time Pac-10 wrestling champion, three-time All-American, and had a wrestling record of 122-23.
Robles will be speaking at Trinity High School’s fundraiser this year in Lancaster, Pennsylvania on November 11th, where he will deliver a motivational speech that is bound to inspire both the athletes and non-athletes alike.
