The Philadelphia Eagles announced on Tuesday that  Brian Westbrook will retire as a member of the team. Westbrook made his NFL debut with the Eagles in 2002 and spent eight years there before signing with the San Francisco 49ers for the 2010 season.

The star running back is one of only six players in league history to amass 30-plus rushing (41) and receiving (30) touchdowns in his career. The two-time Pro Bowler will be honored at Lincoln Financial Field on Dec. 23 during halftime against the Washington Redskins.

Westbrook may now be able to focus a little more on things that are close to his heart such as his foundation, Brian’s Blessings. With a mission of helping less fortunate children foster a sense of high self worth by providing them with the tools they need to learn, play and achieve their dreams, Brian’s Blessings has a goal to raise awareness of the needs of the underprivileged and to address those needs. In addition to providing tangibles such as food, educational materials and toys at the holidays, they also strive to provide the empowerment and inspiration these children need to become successful young people.

This prolific running back is working hard to change the lives of youth and could have a big impact with his presence at Charity Events, Fundraising Events, Football Camps, Coaching Clinics and much more.
