Two-time winner of the World Series of Poker Jennifer Harman was recently one of the honorees at this year’s Poker Hall of Fame ceremony that happened on November 6 at Binion’s Gambling Hall & Hotel in Las Vegas. During her turn to speak, Harman told the audience that the casino holds a special place in her heart as she has had a lot of great memories playing in their poker hall. In addition to that, she openly announced that she didn’t really prepare for her stage time and was going to speak on the fly which made it a truly genuine experience. Harman also confessed that it was her mother who ignited her passion for card playing, and that she would have been thrilled to see how far she has come in her poker skills.
The Reno, Nevada native is only one of two women to ever win the World Series of Poker twice, and the first time she did it was in the year 2000. Her second win was in 2002, just before she had to take some time away due to battling cancer and needing to get proper treatment for it. As of 2014, Harman has won over $2,700,000 and continues to be an expert in the sport. In addition to that, she has authored a chapter of the limit hold’em book called Super System II. She is also a regular host of many charity poker tournaments to benefit the National Kidney Foundation.
Harman was in Las Vegas at the beginning of November this year to be inducted into the Poker Hall of Fame at Binion’s Gambling Hall & Hotel. She is still an active player and continues to dominate other people at the table, and will likely continue to do so for a long time.
