Baltimore Ravens receiver Jeremy Maclin recently traveled to Columbia, Missouri to be the keynote speaker at the Tribby’s last Thursday night at Missouri Theater on July 20. The event will take place at 5:30 p.m. and will recognize about 174 nominees for over 19 sports. In addition to that, there will be other awards handed out for things like sportsmanship, coach and athlete of the year and scholar awards. VIP ticket holders will be able to attend a question and answer session, which is designed to be authentic and genuine. It was a very exciting experience for all the of the Missouri football fans and locals alike.
The Kirkwood, Missouri native started playing football at a young age, and ended up attending the University of Missouri where he played Tigers football for two years between 2006 and 2008. He entered the 2009 NFL Draft where he was selected as the first overall pick by the Philadelphia Eagles, with whom he played for until 2014. Next, he did a shorter stint with the Kansas City Chiefs for the 2015-2016 season and now currently is on the roster of the Baltimore Ravens. In fact, just this summer Maclin signed a two-year $11 million contract from the Ravens, so he will be kicking off the season with the promise of a couple years stay.
Maclin recently traveled back to his home state of Missouri to serve as the keynote speaker at the Tribune’s Best of Prep award ceremony that happened last week on July 20. The event had a great turnout and was one of the best speeches that the city of Columbia has seen in awhile.
