Tim WakefieldFormer Boston Red Sox knuckleballer Tim Wakefield signed autographs for fans at the T-Mobile store at Dedham’s Legacy Place in Dedham, Massachusetts on October 24. Fans lined up several hours prior to the event to thane the chance to meet the retired Red Sox great. During the event, which was a part of MLB’s World Series Trophy Tour presented by T-Mobile, Wakefield signed everything from baseballs, jerseys, to a baby’s forehead. Fans also had the chance to enter a raffle to win tickets to Thursday night’s World Series Game 2.

Wakefield was drafted as a first baseman by the Pittsburgh Pirates in 1988, but after developing a knuckleball he became a pitcher in 1990. He made his MLB debut with the Pirates in 1992 but was subsequently released after the 1994 season. In 1995 he signed with the Red Sox and won 186 games over the next 17 years, ranking him third in franchise history. By the time he retired in 2011 he recorded 200 career wins and was the oldest player in the major leagues.
