Two-time U.S. Open Champion Curtis Strange has been announced as the featured speaker for the 29th Annual Banquet on May 24th at the Naples Grande Beach Resort. In the event’s history, this is the first time that a professional golfer has been the keynoter, so he will certainly bring a lot of diversity to the table. Strange is expected to share a lot of his personal stories and successes as a golfer and comment on how it has impacted the rest of his life for the better, including the challenges he faced. It is sure to be an exciting speech, and he will bring in a lot of people to the event by being a big draw and appealing to the sports lovers in the area.
The Norfolk, Virginia native has been playing golf since the age of seven when his father ran a local country club and taught the sport to himself and his twin brother. He attended Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina and played golf as a part of the NCAA Championship alongside Jay Haas and Bob Byman. Strange’s last win on tour was the 1989 U.S. Open, and he was also the runner-up at the PGA Championship as well as a five-time team player for the Ryder Cup. In 2007, Strange was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame that November at the World Golf Village in St. Augustine, Florida.
Strange will be speaking later this spring on May 24th for the 29th Annual Banquet at the Naples Grande Beach Resort. It will be an exciting and interesting speech to say the least, so get tickets to the event if you are local and in town during the month of May.
