World Champion and Guinness World Record holder Muffy Davis has been named as a speaker for the International Conference Sports for Women which is going to happen on May 4-5 at the Emirates Palace Hotel in Dubai. She will be alongside four other speakers who represent lots of hard work, and have many achievements and accomplishments in the athletic world for women. The two day conference is definitely going to be a motivating one that encourages women from all around the world to pursue their desire to participate in sports and other physical activities.
Davis is a four-time Winter Olympic medalist and a three-time gold medalist as of the London Summer Olympics in 2012, and she is also the Guinness World Record holder for medals won in a single Paralympics event. At the age of 16 she was in a terrible skiing accident that left her paralyzed from the chest down, but this didn’t stop her from continuing to compete in the sports that she loved. She is a very determined woman, as most Olympic athletes don’t tend to focus on both winter and summer events yet she has mastered Paralympic skiing and hand cycling. In her spare time, Davis is a avid traveler and goes to several places a year to give motivational speeches.
The three-time silver medalist will be traveling to the UAE next month to participate in a five person panel for the International Conference Sports for Women. Not only is she a great example for female athletes around the world, but everyone can learn a thing or two from her reliance and inability to give up even after becoming paralyzed at a young age.
