Jim Tressel Biography
Jim Tressel was the head football coach at Youngstown State from 1986 to 2000 and led his team to six consecutive NCAA Div I-AA National Championship games, winning four of them in 1991, 1993, 1994 and 1997. After his tenure at YSU Tressel went on to become the head coach at Ohio State and led the Buckeyes to 10 consecutive BCS Bowl Games, including consecutive BCS National Championship games in 2006 and 2007.
Tressel retired from coaching in 2011 with an overall coaching record of 229-79-2 and 12 coach of the year awards. On July 1, 2014 he returned to Youngstown State University as the ninth president in school history.
