With that latest installment of the Transformers movie series set to be released on June 21st, it is hard to turn on the television without seeing a trailer or commercial for the movie. Starring Mark Wahlberg, Anthony Hopkins and Josh Duhamel, it’s only fitting to have a promotion with Calvin Johnson, who played in a city known for cars and was nicknamed Megatron throughout his career in Detroit.
One of the commercials for Transformers: The Last Knight just so happens to feature former Detroit Lions great Calvin Johnson, who went by the nickname of Megatron during his great career in the Motor City.
Johnson is starring in a commercial for the forthcoming summer blockbuster movie “Transformers.” The spot pits his alter ego — Megatron — against his longtime nemesis. The film hits theaters June 21. If you company is interested in booking a Detroit Lion or Calvin Johnson for a potential appearance, speaking engagement or endorsement, contact AthletePromotions.

This last week Jake Arrieta pitched his second no hitter in only a year and, as it would turn out, it came just after he signed a new endorsement with Mizzen+Main. Mizzen+Main wasted no time on capitalizing on the historic feat and their recent popularity has never been higher.
The Farmington, Missouri native, Jake Arrieta, was originally chosen in the 31st round of the 2004 MLB Amateur Draft but instead chose to attend college at Weatherford Junior College and the next year transferred to Texas Christian University. Arrieta was then selected in the fifth round of the 2007 MLB Draft by the Baltimore Orioles and finished his first season in the minors with a 2.87 ERA and 120 strikeouts. After a few more seasons in the minors, Arrieta went on to play for the Orioles and played with them for four seasons posting a 20-25 record and an ERA of 5.46. In 2013 the Orioles traded Arrieta to the Chicago Cubs and, after one season of shuttling between triple A and the majors, Arrieta began the 2014 season with the MLB club. Arrieta had multiple games in 2013 and 2014 in which he took no hitters deep into the game and continued to post low ERA numbers while striking out a number of hitters. In 2015, Arrieta won 22 games and also threw his first no hitter against the Los Angeles Dodgers. The season turned out to be his breakout campaign that saw an amazingly low ERA of 1.77 and with his amazing season Arrieta saw it rewarded with a NL Cy Young Award. This last week Arrieta threw another no hitter and became only the second pitcher ever to go undefeated in between no hitters. Arrieta, the proclaimed workout freak, currently lives in Austin, Texas with his wife and two children.
This last week, Jake Arrieta pitched another no hitter and helped his most recent endorser Mizzen+Main. The company incorporated the historic pitching performance in a recent ad and it quickly became the most popular ad the company has ever put out. With Arrieta on their side, Mizzen+Main should see an uptick in business while getting more amazing pitching performances from their Chicago Cub Ace.

Earlier this month it was announced that NBA All-Star Kyrie Irving will be partnering with headphone and earbud company Skullcandy. The endorsement with Skullcandy will give Irving a little more input than normal endorsements by having Irving give his own personal touch on the company’s products and his own personal line of products.
Kyrie Irving is a Melbourne, Victoria, Australia native whose dream of playing in the NBA started after a fourth grade trip to Continental Airlines Arena. After a highly illustrious high school career, Irving committed to play for Duke in 2009. Through the first eight games of the season in 2011, Irving was averaging over 17 points a game, five assists, four rebounds, and 1.5 steals a game. However in the ninth game of their season Irving suffered a severe ligament injury on his big toe and didn’t play another game for Duke until the beginning of the NCAA tournament where he scored 28 points in the sweet sixteen game against Arizona. Following his only season at the University of Duke, Irving was selected by the Cleveland Cavaliers with the first overall pick in the 2011 NFL Draft. Irving finished his rookie season with the Cavs averaging over 18 points a game and the rookie of the year award. The following season Irving was selected to his first All-Star game and became the youngest player in NBA history to score 40 points at Madison Square Garden. After his second straight all-star appearance, Irving was joined by Lebron James and Kevin Love to form a big three who actually started the season slow with a 5-7 record but ultimately went on to the NBA Finals their first year together. Irving was subsequently injured in the first game of the Finals and with missing Irving, the Cavaliers ultimately lost the series to the Golden State Warriors. Irving ended up missing the beginning of the 2015 season due to the fractured kneecap he suffered in the Finals the previous year but since his return Irving has assisted the Cavs in finishing the year with the number one seed in the Eastern Conference as the Cavs look to rebound and take home the NBA title this season.
Earlier this month it was announced that NBA All-Star Kyrie Irving will partner with Skullcandy by helping the company start a personal line for Irving while also taking his input in their other products as well. The marriage of the two should turn out to be successful due in large part to Irving’s creativity and touch on todays in styles and trends.

Just nine months after Jordan Spieth signed a nice endorsement deal with AT&T, the 21-year-old Texan is featured in his first TV commercial with the Dallas-based company. Jordan is supporting the company’s “It Can Wait” campaign against texting and driving.
“I like this more,” Spieth said Monday night after his runner-up finish in the Texas Open that moved him to No. 4 in the world. “This is more genuine, more natural and has a bigger impact. It’s something the entire audience can do. It’s not, ‘Hey, go buy this smartphone.’ This is very simple.”
AT&T started its campaign in 2010 with minimal branding, an aggressive social media campaign and more than 6 million pledges not to text and drive. Many other athletes have got involved with the campaign
With much of it shot at Augusta National when he was playing a practice round earlier this month, the commercial with Spieth is a 30-second documentary of his life, hitting shots, putting and walking across the Hogan bridge. He also is seen arriving at an airport, in his hotel room and in a coffee shop, with his phone always in his hand, connected to the ones that are most important. After two days at the Masters, he is currently leading by 5 stokes.
Spieth says in the commercial ,”I feel so fortunate to be out on tour,”. “The only downside is being away from my friends and family. So I don’t know what I’d do without my phone. I use it to stay connected. I use it to remind me of what really matters most.
